Plot outline

Trayne, a very wealthy Londoner businessman with quite unusual friends, devices one of the major coups in the history of crime - the robbery of the Crown Jewels from the Tower of London. The minute-by-minute arranged plan succeeds with cat burglars and a look-alike. But then complications occur. The thieves were photographed by a passing tourist, just as they were trying to get rid of an unpleasant witness. Just before the tourist himself is kidnapped, he is able to give Scotland Yard a crucial clue. But when the time has come for dividing the loot, intrigues increase within the gangsters. The final showdown is on a freighter, which can explode any minute…
