Plot outline

A patient has escaped from an institute for the insane. Because he is classified as very dangerous, Higgins and Kate Nelson are called to assist. In the nearby castle Wonderley, Sir Douglas has called upon his entire family and his lawyer, announcing a change of his last will. Before he starts, a hooded man scares him so bad, he falls into a coma. The last will disappears. Just before midnight, Douglas' son Albert falls of the tower and the illegitimate other son - from a liaison with the chambermaid - who showed up as a surprise guest from nowhere, is killed, too. Finally Sir John personally takes over the case in order to expose the murderer, together with Higgins and Nelson.
