Plot outline

The life of Ben and Jenny, a young and well-off, married couple from Berlin could be perfectly happy. Yet behind the scenes, an unhappy relationship is concealed, not only caused by unintentional childlessness. As the attractive Lisa moves in next door, Jenny hopes for a chance in her everyday life and more or less urges herself onto her new neighbour. Soon a friendship develops between both women. Short flashbacks show the horrible past of a little girl: a majestic tree in which branches she hides from her violent father. Tormenting memories of one of the women's past. Lisa becomes aware of the unfulfilled wishes of Jenny and Ben, and tries to take advantage of Jenny's husband, also trying to get him, faithful and naive, to open himself to her. Finally Lisa triumphs over Bens will power. In order to rescue his marriage, Ben heads off on holiday with Jenny. Lisa waits in despair for the return of them both with a murderous plan.
