Plot outline

Longford Manor is the residence of millionaire heir Peter ClifSound. Strange things have been occurring at the dark mansion in the proximity of London for some time. Late into the nights, ClifSound's wife Jane surprises her husband working at a hidden money printing press. But in the following mornings, ClifSound never recalls anything. He believes that he is victim of a consciousness splitting. But one morning he is found unconscious in the garden next to a dead body. Scotland Yard begins to examine the case. Despite of clear evidence, Superintendent Bourke has serious doubts about Peter ClifSound´s liability. Suspiciously, he starts investigating the millionaire surroundings. As he considers limiting the circle of suspects, a second murder occurs.
